Sea-Tac Rendezvous with the AAP Foundation

The AAP Foundation is preparing to wing its way to America's aerospace capital for engaging sessions, special events, and happy reunions at the AAP Annual Meeting. Meet up with the Foundation in Seattle to learn about everything your donations are doing to lift periodontology. All are welcome to the Foundation booth to learn about programs, meet the staff, interact with volunteer leaders, and complete a variety of tasks including:

• Making a donation or pledge
• Picking up donor recognition and other ribbons for their name badge
• Nominating a Student or Practice Ambassador
• Ordering gifts and cards to honor patients and referring dentists
• Discovering silent auction items

Learn about cutting-edge advancements at the interface of periodontics and orthodontics in this year’s Future Horizons in Periodontology lecture. This year’s speakers will share the findings of research funded by the inaugural Richman Family Foundation Perio-Ortho Interface Grants when they were created in 2021 to advance collaboration at this critical intersection of dental specialties. Now part of the Levi-Richman Integration Initiative, the program is helping to connect periodontology with other dental and medical disciplines and champion periodontal health as the oral-systemic link. Dr. Guo-Hao (Alex) Lin’s research evaluated the impact of orthodontic alignment on keratinized tissue width, mid-facial recession, tissue phenotype, and interdental papilla dimensions, while Dr. Vrushali Abhyankar conducted a combined retrospective and prospective CBCT analysis of buccal bone dimensions with and without periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics in adult patients. The Foundation will again provide Annual Meeting attendees with valuable information at the Practice Transition, Retirement, and Estate Planning Breakfast, as well as the opportunities for philanthropic impact that those life events can create.
