AAP Foundation Staff

Kyle Gorden, Executive Director

Kyle Gorden joined the American Association of Periodontology Foundation following 25 years in advancement leadership and consulting roles in higher education, academic medical centers, arts organizations, and professional associations. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago, the Kyoto Center for Japanese Studies, and the Vilar Fellowship in Arts Management at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

SARAH VanAmburg, director of DEVELOPMENT Programs

Sarah VanAmburg, with 14 years at the AAP Foundation, was recently promoted to Director of Development Programs. She leads programmatic fundraising efforts, including the Annual Fund, PerioDash, and Ambassadors programs, along with Annual Meeting activities and special events. Sarah also oversees stewardship initiatives and collaborates on marketing and communications. Before joining the Foundation, she worked in the Academy’s membership department.

JONATHON J. FELLOWS, partner, SENIOR CONSULTANT, Fiducient Advisors

Jonathon J. Fellows, CFA, MSB, BBA, provides investment-consulting services to non-profit organizations, corporate executives, family trusts, and other substantial investors. He services clients by providing advice and expertise on asset allocation and portfolio design, investment policy statements, the manager search process, and overall investment management. Jon is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.

Past Award Winners Update

Congratulations to Fatemeh “Flora” Momen-Heravi, DDS, PhD, (2017 Educator Scholar, 2018 Dr. D. Walter Cohen Teaching Award Recipient) assistant professor of dental medicine at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, who was named the 2020 recipient of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) Anne D. Haffajee Fellowship. The award provides early-career women researchers in the field of oral biology with financial support for training and research activities that will advance their academic careers. Read more here.
